Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer
This year's ride will be my 8th Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer and I am very proud to continue as the Chair of the Alberta Ride. Last year we had almost 2,000 riders participate and we were able to raise close to $8 million for cancer research that will be done here in Alberta at Tom Baker and the Cross Cancer centres. Our Enbridge team had its most successful year ever with almost 200 riders raising almost $650,000. Hopefully, we can match or even beat last year's amazing success.
All of us ride because someone close to us has been impacted by cancer. I started doing the Ride in 2009 because my mother-in-law Louise Morton had just passed away from cancer and my friend John Osler had been recently diagnosed with cancer. I am happy to report that John was able to beat his cancer and has been cancer free for many years now. Since last year’s Ride, unfortunately, we have lost many friends and loved ones to this horrible disease, we at Enbridge lost our close friend Janet Holder and my mom lost her best friend Cindy. While the cancer community continues to make progress on finding a cure, we still lose to many loved ones, so that why I continue to ride.
So I am again asking for your support in finding a cure for this awful disease. Please consider making a $250, $500 or even a $1,000 donation, as your gift will get us one step closer to the dream of a cancer free world.
Thanks for your support.
