Welcome to My Ride to Conquer Cancer 2016
Please support my Ride to Conquer Cancer 2016
Thanks to everyone who donated to this event last year. With your help and generosity, our team raised over $140,000, the highest total for a non-corporate team in Alberta last year! That's a testament to our great team and to the generosity of all our supporters. In our first three years doing the Ride, we’ve raised close to $300,000. We’ve set our goal this year at $200,000+, bringing our four year total close to $500,000.
This Ride is for a cause that we all believe in, fighting cancer. We’ve all been touched in some way by this disease. For some of us, we’ve felt the scare of having someone close to us (for me, my girlfriend, WBN Cycling teammate and cancer survivor, Jenna Archer) be diagnosed with cancer and watched them fight their courageous battles. While some were victorious, sadly, some have lost. We ride to honour their memories, to honour those who have survived and to help those who are fighting for their lives right now.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer is about the people affected by cancer, the people we see and stories we hear in the opening ceremony video, the person who rode the bike that is walked up to the starting line who won’t be riding this year and the survivors we ride with along the way who bear the yellow flag. And, after two days of gruelling and inspired riding, crossing the finish line as a team, knowing that we have made a profound impact in the lives of those we ride for.
Please join me to help raise money that will be directed to Cancer prevention, research and treatment. I believe that every dollar donated will help make our world a better place.
