Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer
2015 will be my third year participating in the Ride to Conquer Cancer. 2015 will be my first year without my wife supporting me since she passed away in August 2014.
Last year, with your generous donations, I raised over $16,000 dollars and over $25,000 in the two years I have been riding. All donations go to the Segal Cancer Center at the Jewish General Hospital. I am hoping that this year with your support to do even better.
About the Ride
- 2 day, 230km cancer charity bike ride from Montreal to Quebec City
- 2014: 1468 riders, $5.3 million raised
About the Rider
I am a father of 3 young daughters. 5 year old twins, Charlotte and Aja, who will be starting school this year and their 3 year old sister Olivia. It has been almost 2 years since my wife, Katrina, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. Her initial prognosis was 4 months. Thanks to advancements in cancer treatments we have had the opportunity to enjoy 2 additional years with Katrina.
For a young family, cancer has affected our lives in many ways. For the first 15 months Katrina's treatment provided a good quality of life with relatively minor side effects. Afterwards she had radiation treatment and traditional chemotherapy. We sold our house and moved so we could be closer to support and treatment.
Support my ride in support of my wife and others living with cancer. I hope, one day, other families will no longer have to be affected by cancer. Please give generously.
