Why am I riding the 200 km from Toronto to Niagara Falls June 13 and 14, 2009? Why am I doing this again??
Last time I rode to prove that I could do it and give something back to the hospital, and thanks to a number of people and organisations, I did.
This time it's not about me, it's about the doctors, PhD's and the other researchers at Princess Margaret. They are leading the way in developing medical technologies as well as treatments. For example, Image Guided Therapy that allows radiation to be pinpointed during treatment and Guided Surgery which uses imaging during surgery to better guide the surgeon to removing only the affected areas. PMH has over 400 clinical trials running, many of which will become new ways to identify cancer and improve treatments.
I am also doing this for a soccer teammate of my 12 yr old son who is battling this terrible disease, and for an aunt who passed on December 19th.
I'm sure cancer has touched your life, a loved one, a friend or a friend's loved one. You know someone stricken with cancer; Sadly, too many of us do.
I was diagnosed with Hodgkin's disease in June of 1994 and received treatment at the Princess Margaret Hospital. My battle with cancer was short and today I am in excellent health.
This year's ride comes 15 years, plus or minus a couple of days, since my diagnosis.
Princess Margaret Hospital is recognised as one of the top 5 cancer research centres in the world. Your support will help keep it that way.
I want to give something BIG back to Princess Margaret Hospital. I hope that you'll share this incredible adventure with me by supporting me in my fundraising efforts.
Leafs Ticket Draw It figures that I try to raffle off leafs tickets and they are almost mediocre and people aren't interested. I sold just over 75 tickets. The winners name won't be posted at their request.

My aunt Sari My aunt passed away today after a long and valiant fight. She went out the way she lived her life, thinking of others. Her grandchildren were out of school for the break it was before her sister's (my mother) and her oldest grandchild's birthdays.
You are already and will forever be missed.
