IMPORTANT NEWS - PLEASE DO NOT PRESS THAT GREEN BUTTON :)

Thank you all for your support for the 2009 Ride to Conquer Cancer!

What an amazing experience was had by all. I will soon send you all an email with some more details.

My 2010 webpage is up and running now, and is ready to accept donations for next year's ride. I know that some of you planned to donate to 2009, but have not had an opportunity to do so. So, please follow this link if you would like to make a donation, as I need to start all over again to reach my fundraising requirement:

Please note that any money donated to the 2010 campaign will be put to use right away for cancer research... there is no waiting around for the actual ride to occur.

Thank you all so very much for your continued support of this great cause :)

Warm-up - Ride for Heart - 75KM
On Sunday I completed the Becel Ride for Heart. I did the 75KM route, which had a very early start time (6:45AM). It was so very cold I was wearing four layers on top and two on the bottom - a sharp contrast to when I did this ride previously (it reached highs of nearly 30c that year).
There was a lot of buzz about the upcoming RtoCC... I overheard several groups of people talking about it during the ride, and saw a number of people wearing last year's ride jersey (I had our IBM-OCI team jersey on, although for most of the ride it was covered up due to the layering). I think a lot of our riders took advantage of the Becel 75km to do a training run :)
I finished the route in four hours, which is a reasonable pace for me (that includes time at three rest stops along the way), and am feeling well today, so hopefully that bodes well for the ride weekend. I have done all my training in the gym this year (the reverse of last year, which was all road training). I can see the difference on the hills (my legs seem stronger due to the spinning class training).
So excited... still just over $1,000 to go to reach my fundraising minimum, so I am going to have to keep up with the emailing and asking everyone I see if they can help out and support this great cause to help get myself to the minimum by this Friday.
