Support the Ride to Conquer Cancer™ in honor of my Mom - Rubyna Wood

Welcome to Bruce Wood's Ride to Conquer Cancer website!

The 2009 Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting The Princess Margaret is a cycling journey from Toronto to Niagara Falls - a distance of over 200 km.

Last year I rode in the inception Ride to Conquer Cancer. It was a fantastic event that raised over 14 million dollars, which will go a long way to funding cancer research. Meeting and riding with many of the thousands of other riders - many of them cancer survivors themselves - and hearing their stories was truly inspirational and showed the level of committment they all have to do something about this disease.

I rode in honor of my Mother, Rubyna Wood, who passed away in May 2007 after a battle with a very aggressive cancer that seemed to come from nowhere - a year earlier she appeared to be healthy and active and still excelled at tennis and other sports!

This year I'm riding again in honor of my Mom, and all the other people afflicted by cancer, including my wife Martine who is a thyroid cancer survivor. And this year I've enlisted the help of my big brother, Ross. Together we'll go the distance to help raise awareness about the need to help fund cancer research.

I believe we can make a real difference if we work together to fight this horrible disease. Investing in cancer research will lead to better diagnosis, treatments and aid in curing this horrible disease.

Please help me to raise funds by contributing to this cause with a donation. The money raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research hospitals in the world.
