Please Support Me and My Team's Ride to Conquer Cancer™
Last year the inaugural Ride to Conquer Cancer raised $14M towards the cause. The event moved me so much, that after finishing the ride, I signed up to ride again this year!
Last year, at the end of day one, the last rider arrived at camp. She rode a three wheeled bike and had one leg. She also had a flag on her bike, distinguishing herself as a cancer survivor.
That woman inspired me, she inspired us all, and had confirmed why we were all at that event. Taking time out of our busy lives, and time from our families. We ride because we can - I am able to ride, I am healthy, and I want to help make a difference.
On June 13-14 I will once again cycle over 200km, riding from Toronto to Niagara Falls, benefiting The Princess Margaret,
Our team is also supporting the work of Dr. Igor Jurisica's and his and IBM's participation in the World Community Grid - http://www.worldcommunitygrid.org. It is a really innovative initiative where people like us can volunteer access to our computers,when not in use, for scientific research. Researchers log in, using secure software, to use the compute power of computers worldwide.
I also support this ride for my kids, Lauren, Ashleigh and Carling, so that researchers will continue to find cures for cancer. Cancer affects all of us, and it's a horrible disease.
Every dollar you can contribute will help me in my quest to support what this event represents. Even a small contribution of $5 will help!
