Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer™
We're at it again! Even before starting the 2009 Ride we signed up for 2010.
At the same time both exhilarating and humbling, the 2009 Ride introduced us to many extraordinary individuals, and an amazing display of 4000+ people directing their energy to a single cause. That energy has tremendous potential to positively affect every life.
There is not one among us who has not been touched by cancer. We celebrate the survivors, support the fighters and remember all who have been touched by this terrible disease: Ruth, Dave, John, Leigh, Diedre, Dan, Cobina, Maureen, Peggy, Mike, Sam, Keith, Paul, Harry, Mark, Al, Rob, Tracey, Phil, Betty, Jim, Ted. The Ride to Conquer Cancer is about more celebration.
Contribute to this history-making event with a donation. Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at The Princess Margaret, one of the top 5 cancer research hospitals in the world.

The Fun Continues...

Yesterday was perfect weather. 350 cyclists, some who participated in the 2009 ride, and some who recently signed up for 2010 met in downtown Toronto for a 25K or 50K "celebration training ride".
We chose the 50K loop, and once we were sent on our way a smaller group promptly ignored our guide, and charged off in vaguely the right direction. After many stops and much discussion we realized we were a bit too far east of our last turn (signs to Ottawa were a good clue!), so we backtracked and eventually found the right roads. Heather tangled with a rider who got stuck in a streetcar track, and now has her flying license. Ouch.
Apart from that, a great way to kick off 2010!
