Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer?

For a fifth year in a row, I am cycling in the Ride to Conquer Cancer with the Bauer-Zimmering Pacesetters.

The Ride is a truly inspiring event involving thousands of cyclists, and countless volunteers and organizers, backed by all the people who generously support our efforts on behalf of cancer research.

The Ride is a two-day event, June 9-10, with a choice of routes starting in Toronto or Niagara Falls and passing through Hamilton, where all participants, riders, volunteers, organizers and others, gather on Saturday evening for presentations on how the Ride is helping to fight cancer.

The Ride brings together incredible energy and enthusiasm, with thousands of cyclists participating, backed by many volunteers, with people lined along the route cheering us on.  The Ride truly reflects our shared commitment to achieve something significant and meaningful, together.

The Ride is a challenge. To up the ante, a 200-mile event was added a few years ago on top of the traditional 200-kilometre course. 

The Ride is in support of the Campbell Family Cancer Research Institute at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Toronto. Cancer touches all of us, either personally, or through family and friends. Many of the riders are cancer survivors themselves or are riding in support of family or friends dealing with cancer. Many have the names of the people they ride in support of marked on their jerseys. I feel privileged to be able to participate.
