Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer®

Welcome to my personal page to fight cancer!

I've decided to take on the challenge of riding my bike from Vancouver to Seattle in two days for many reasons. Bicycling and cancer have touched me in so many different ways. I love riding my bike and I also love many people who have been or are being affected by cancer.

This journey will give me an opportunity to ride my bike with other people who also care about fighting this disease. When I ride, I normally think about how healthy and fit I feel. However, this ride will give me a different focus. I will be thinking of the many people I love who have survived cancer or who have not been so lucky. Many of my friends have also lost loved ones to cancer.
Some of my close relatives have been diagnosed and treated with cancer and a close cousin and aunt were very unlucky and died too young. I also have some friends to think about. My one close friend went through chemotherapy a few years ago and I was relieved and in awe by her amazing ability to fight it. Today, however, I have another very close friend who is going through some horrendous chemotherapy and will contemplate surgery in the near future. With all my years of nursing people with cancer, I still can not give enough respect to people who have enough strength to hold their heads high and remain hopeful as they contemplate their lives with a cancer diagnosis.
I believe that if they can have the strength to fight this disease, I can at least find the time and strength to help raise awareness and ask you to help donate anything you can to this cause. Please help me in my personal quest to conquer cancer!
