Please Help Support My Ride to Conquer Cancer
Cancer has invaded the lives of so many people we know. Our family. Our friends. I have seen and felt the power of human spirit through the darkest of these moments. A spirit and joy when even the smallest moments of progress become overwhelming emotional highs. Inspiring. Motivating.
The inspiration and motivation to continue to raise awareness and funds for Cancer Research comes from my family and friends. My brother-in-law Lucas Spata, was diagnosed with small cell cancer 5 years ago and endured invasive surgery, facial reconstruction, chemotherapy, radiation and medication. My dear friend Dr. Ester Falconer, a Post-Doctoral fellow at BC Cancer Agency’s Terry Fox Laboratory, continues her research and development on finding new ways for us to both understand and hopefully, eventually conquer cancer. And my sister Nicole, who through all the emotional and physical toil cancer can bring to a family, has always been a beacon of light and strength, no matter how dark the days.
It is with the spirit resonating from these three souls and from the countless many who understand the need to end cancer, I wish to contribute in one of the few ways I can. With hard work and sweat.
The Ride to Conquer Cancer benefiting the BC Cancer Foundation, is a two-day cycling journey from Vancouver to Seattle, June 19-20th, 2010. I am hoping to raise $5000.00 on this journey so that others may never have to go through what many families now endure.
Please help me by contributing to this journey with a donation. The Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care made possible through the BC Cancer Foundation.
Thank you all for your inspiration, motivation and contribution!
