SUPPORT MY RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
Hello Friends and Family,
I've signed up for a 3rd consecutive year to do the Ride to Conquer Cancer, and this year, in 2017, we ride for hope. Hope for the future, hope that those who are diagnosed with cancer will have better treatments available to them, more resources to access and an improved rate of survival.
Linnea fought a brave and valiant effort until her untimely passing in September 2016, at the mere age of 32. She is missed everyday by friends and family, and especially so by her husband Todd.
Linnea's spirit lives on in her friends and family members, it lives on in our team members as a beacon of HOPE. Her fight has ended, but THE fight carries on, and we continue to carry hope, that for those currently battling various cancers, as well as those who may one day be diagnosed, there will be more resources, more options, more knowledge, and improved treatments. Hope, that one day, we can beat this disease.
This year our team has been touched once again by cancer. Someone far too young and with too much life left to experience. This year, we ride for Keren as well. I read on the weekend of a young Alberta mother, who recently gave birth to twins in March, passed away from breast cancer, only 1 week after being diagnosed. A few weeks ago, a good friend told me that her dad was once again battling cancer, after having beaten it 20 years ago. This disease does not have a filter on who it touches. It could be any one of us, at any time, no matter age or how healthy of a lifestyle you lead.
Hope doesn't die with each person that succumbs to cancer, it dies when those of us still here, give up and stop trying to find a cure. We can each make a difference towards this, and so many of us have been touched, or have loved someone who has been touched by cancer. With that in mind, please consider donating to our cause. Or even better, consider joining our team and riding with us, with hope, towards a cure. Know that any donation you make can be directed towards any of the cancers you may wish to support. The money raised may be the hardest part of training for the ride, but it is also the most important. And every dollar makes a difference.
Thank you so much those who have previously donated to my rides. I hope you will donate again to this worthy cause. And to everyone else, I hope you'll consider the same, whether in memory or support of someone you know that has been touched by cancer, or to support our cause. As in all things, we are always #StrongerTogether.
Love and Hugs,
Bea and Mike
