Support My Ride For Cancer Research in Alberta
Dear Friends and Family,
This is second year that I’m joining Todd Kemper team - Linnea's Legion - in support of rising funds for research in the field of breast cancer. This way, I would like to support research efforts to understood and eventually greatly improve breast cancer treatments and to give many families joy of having loved ones beside them and celebrating their lives to the fullest. Also, through my suffering to have to ride 100 km in one day (twice in the row!), I’d like to support and commemorate all brave souls who are/were courageously dealing with this debilitating illness, as well as all women in my life that had to live with breast cancer.
There is also another personal reason for doing this ride. Twelve years ago, I was diagnosed with Follicular Lymphoma, typically a slow-growing, or indolent, form of non-Hodgkin lymphoma. I consider myself lucky that my body was able to deal with it for such a long period without progressing to the stage that would come with unpleasant symptoms. However, last year some symptoms started appearing, fortunately they are still not the main ones. However, the decision on should I be radiated or not is something that I have to think about past couple of months and thinking about it is not something that puts you in good mood. I’m still able to live very active and fulfilling life, and I strongly believe that physical activities (swimming, running, biking and hiking) help my body to keep lymphoma reasonably at bay so far.
Please donate to this great cause! If you donate to our team or to me personally, as a token of appreciation I will, same as last year, give you a print of your choice from my collection of landscape or wildlife photographs!
Every donation how big or small is greatly appreciated and contributes to great cause! Thank you!
