Welcome to Jill's Ride Page!
This past year, cancer has taken a heartbreaking toll on my friends and family. We lost our beautiful friend Linnea to breast cancer in September. My Dad's wife, Marion, passed away after a 15-year battle with breast cancer in March. My uncle Jim was diagnosed with leukemia in December and has shown an outstanding response to his chemotherapy treatment!!!!
Last year, I cheered on my friends’ incredible fundraising efforts in the first year of Linnea's Legion. This year I have decided to join the team in honour of the courage it takes to fight cancer!
One of the last conversations I had with Linnea was about the importance of being healthy and taking care of ourselves. It's taken a lot to convince myself that I am capable of riding 200km. I am nervous to take on this ride but am growing more confident as a biker as I keep focusing on challenging myself to take more risks! I could not be more proud to ride alongside this amazing group of friends.
The money that I am raising for this ride will go towards cancer research and treatment in Alberta. It is crucial that our researchers and medical professionals have the necessary funding to continue with research, drug trials, and innovative treatments. Through continued support, we can surely make great strides for those who ARE and WILL be affected by cancer.
Please consider donating to my ride as I pedal my way to raising $2500. Funds raised in The Ride to Conquer Cancer not only support breakthrough research, but also exemplary teaching and compassionate care at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and treatment. All of those facets are essential to the physical and mental health of the cancer patient and their caregivers.
Thank you in advance for your help, whether it is through a monetary donation, words of encouragement during training, or simply sharing our stories. Learn more about our team at linneaslegion.ca
