Welcome to My Personal Page
Riding for the ones who no longer can and so one day we don't have to!
We have all been impacted by Cancer... unfortunately that is nothing new. Luckily I have not physically been affected by cancer but I still have been touched by it too many times... My main reason for getting involved with this event was because I lost my Grandfather to prostate cancer back in 2002. I was just barely 12 years old and way too young to have to say good bye to my Grandpa. There is not a day that goes by that I don't think about him and wish that he could have known me now and have gotten the chance to meet my daughter, his great granddaughter. January 9th this year was 15 years since we had to say goodbye but it feels like just yesterday. No Mother, Wife, Husband, Dad, Brother, Sister, Child, Grand Child, or Friend should have to say good bye too early because of this horrible disease. This year a close friends Dad also found out that his prostate cancer is back and will have to undergo treatment again.
So this year I ride for my Grandpa, I ride for her Dad, and I ride for HOPE.
I am not a medical professional but this is my chance to save a life.
As most of you visiting this page know I have worked for this event for over 2 years and have watched and felt the impact an event like this has on our community, cancer survivors and current individuals facing cancer. I knew that it was my turn to be on this side of the event making a difference! Plus I also just had a baby so why not get myself back into shape while making a difference!
What is this event you may ask?? Well I am committing to raising over $2500 for Cancer research and riding over 200KM (about 150 miles for my Americans ;] ) in 2 days! I know I am nuts haha but my job for the last 2 years was to convince people this is possible, so it’s time to put my money where my mouth is!
I am asking you all to believe in me! Please know that any amount helps and I truly would love the support of you all in raising these funds, challenging myself to ride a bike for WAY too long haha, and being a small part of putting an end to Cancer
