Victoria Snable - Ride to Conquer Cancer
My Ride to Conquer Cancer
Dear family and friends,
This August I am again joining Linnea's Legion on the Alberta Ride to Conquer Cancer, where I will cycle over 200km over 2 days in the fight against cancer. There are no words to describe the moment you find out that cancer has invaded your family, those closest to you, who seem invincible in your eyes. In 2014, my brother was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 25. It's a disease that affects us all.
Being a bystander to cancer brings about a sense of helplessness, watching those we love, fight the horrors of cancer and the side effects of treatments. But we can do something, we can make a real difference by raising money in their name, in the fight to end cancer. Too many people are forced to face this disease, all of them too young, and it is time to say enough.
The funds raised through Linnea's Legion will raise money in Linnea's name to support research into this aggressive and poorly understood cancer and provide support for compassionate care. Linnea, Todd's beautiful wife, lost her battle with breast cancer last fall. Funds raised for the ride will go to support much needed research in cancer to provide hope for the future.
This ride will be a challenge in a number of ways, but with my bike, my helmet, and your generosity, a real impact will be made! Contribute to this history-making event with a donation. Funds raised in The Enbridge Ride to Conquer Cancer will support breakthrough research, exemplary teaching, and compassionate care at the Alberta Cancer Foundation, a leader in cancer research and treatment.
If people can fight cancer daily, then with your support and donations, I can certainly raise a minimum of $2500 and bike 200 km in the Rockies. While $2500 is a lot of money, every dollar counts, so please consider donating or supporting this effort however you can.
Thank you for your support,
