As Captain of Team Supernatural, we are proud to be participating in our 8th year of THE RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER, benefiting The BC Cancer Foundation!! As many of you know, this 2 day cycling journey goes from Vancouver to Seattle, on August 26 & 27, 2017. This year, I will be one of 2500 Riders cycling and hopefully raising more than the $7 million raised last year!!
Thanks to all our supporters last year Team Supernatural raised over $35,000 and was proud to have been awarded Gold Ambassador status. To date, Team Supernatural has raised over a $149,000.00!! This year, I will be riding with Ryan, Tracey and Charmaine (new to the Team), with Jill, Rod, and Wendy driving through the crowds, picking up tired, injured Riders, with Mildred my mother working at the lunch tent again.
Team Supernatural, began this journey by participating in honour of our good friend and mentor, Kim Manners, an executive producer/director, noted for his amazing talents on the TV series Supernatural, The X-Files, and many other productions, who passed away 8 years ago suddenly in 2009, from lung cancer.
As with last year, we are riding for our very good friend Alan Kostiuk, who passed away from extensive cancers. Alan was a professional volleyball player, who represented Team Canada, was on volleyball teams internationally, and also ran a very successful landscaping company. With Kim in our hearts and the memories of all our aunts, uncles, friends and colleagues, who have lost their lives to cancer we keep participating in this event. Cancer touches everyone's lives, and we are fundraising for this event, so that our family, friends, and colleagues who are still battling this dreadful disease, will have a chance to survive, and go on to live happy, healthy lives.
We hope that you will share this incredible adventure with us by supporting us in our fundraising efforts. Team Supernatural's goal this year is to raise over $25,000.00, to make our grand total for the 8 years over $175,000!! We thank everyone who has supported us in the past, and we hope that it is possible for you to help again. For those of you, new to our donors list, or unable to contribute in past years, we hope that you might be able to consider making a donation this year. All proceeds go to the BC Cancer Foundation to support cancer research, treatment, and services.
Thank you, Kevin, Jill, Wendy, Rod, MIldred, Ryan, Tracey and Charmeine
