Our team will help you fundraise, we will train with you and we will help prepare you for the ride with various meetings and information sessions. For the ride itself we will let you find your own pace and group to ride with so you are completley comfortable with no pressure. A small group of our riders are riding to Seattle and back to Vancouver in the two days, one day down and one day back to raise extra funds for Cancer Awareness, but most of us are not that crazy!

We have raised funds for the BC Cancer Foundation over the past six years through our events such as "an evening of champions with Eddy & Axel Merckx", "The Westside Cycling Classic", "The Tour de Gastown", "The Wedgewood Cyclo Cross Race at New Brighton Park" , "Ride To Conquer Cancer Events" and two "Journey Home Rides" in support of Sindi Hawkins and in memory of Michael Meier.

We have participated in and helped organise the Tour of Courage with Lance Armstrong & Friends and will continue as a club to raise funds and awareness for the BC Cancer Foundation.

We rode in the 2009 & 2010 Ride To Conquer Cancers in which our team raised over $158'000 in 2009 and over $300'000 in 2010 we hope to raise $500'000 with your support in 2011.

The Wedgewood Cycling Team will make the 2011 ride one of its main fundraising initiatives for the year ahead and we look forward to supporting this great event.

Our team is made up of all levels of riders with a good mix of males & females which include novices to regular club riders, employees of our sponsors, guests, friends, family & co workers. We start training as a team starting in early spring to ensure you are ready for this event.

We love to ride our bikes and next summer we will participate in many events such as the Axel Merckx Gran Fondo in Penticton on July 10th 2011, the Ride To Conquer Cancer will help us prepare for that lovely ride.

Here is our recap of the 2010 ride
